The Health Inspector performs a variety of routine and complex professional services to ensure the public health of the community pursuant to rules and regulations related to public health. Receives, investigates and responds to complaints within jurisdiction. Acts as agent of the Board of Health to carry out the functions mandated by statute and Board of Health policy.

Salary range: $18.54 - $25.17 (37.5 hours per week)

Bachelors Degree in Public Health, Environmental Sciences or related field preferred, and three years of field inspection experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating ability to perform above duties. The candidate for this position should hold a Food Safety License, be a Certified Pool Operator, and be a licensed Septic System Inspector and Soil Evaluator. It is preferred that the candidate is a registered sanitarian or a certified health officer, but significant experience will be considered a valid substitution. The candidate must have a valid Massachusetts driver's license.

North Shore – Cape Ann Emergency Preparedness Coalition (NSCA-EPC)

The International Institute of Greater Lawrence (IIGL), acting on behalf of the Region 3D Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coalition, is seeking to retain and contract a Regional Emergency Preparedness Planner. This individual will assist local public health within the North Shore – Cape Ann Region (15 communities) in meeting Federal and State emergency preparedness grant deliverables, including but not limited to: Conducting drills and exercises and preparing HSEEP compliant after-action reports; Overseeing Coalition management and participation; Ensuring compliance with grant requirements; and Coordinating subcontractor roles.

Working knowledge of local and state public health and safety departments is required and familiarity with NIMS, ICS and HSEEP is preferred.  The selected candidate must be organized, able to multi-task and have good verbal and written communication skills. In addition, the EP Planner must be able to work independently, with limited supervision, and have necessary transportation throughout all 15 communities in the Region.  Bachelor’s degree is required.  

The EP Coordinator will report to the NSCA-EPC Executive Committee. This subcontracted position is based on 25 hours per week, for 48 weeks out of the 52-week fiscal year, paid at a rate of $50.00 per hour. The International Institute of Greater Lawrence, on behalf of Region 3B Greater Lawrence Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coalition seeks to contract with a part time EDS Planner.  The total cost of this contract not to exceed $10,000.00.  The selected individual must have a background in Healthcare Emergency Preparedness and Emergency Dispensing Site (EDS) planning.  The scope of service for this subcontracted position includes the following deliverables due by March 30, 2018:
1) Develop a strategic plan to begin execution of the Regional Emergency Dispensing Site (EDS) work plan that was developed in Budget Period 4.
3.) Engage local Emergency Management Directors (EMDs) and facilitate planning teams with regional and local partners.
4.) Facilitate identification of a minimum of 2 Regional EDS locations within the Coalition; provide technical assistance and outreach to those sites and the respective governing authority and/or facility owner.
5.) Facilitate the signing of Memorandum of Agreements for facility usage as appropriate and develop Regional EDS plans utilizing templates for those sites provided by MDPH.
6.) Complete and submit a progress report and final report to the Region 3B Coalition and provide other updates as requested.

The selected candidate should be able to work independently with limited supervision and provide necessary transportation throughout all 8 communities in the Region.  

Bachelor’s degree required; Master of Public Health or related degree preferred.   This subcontracted position is for 20 hours/week at $40.00/hour not to exceed $41,600/year, no benefits provided.

The Town of Watertown seeks a Community Wellness Program Manager to assist with strategic planning of Community Wellness Programs, develop and implement  ongoing community wellness and aging in place/healthy aging initiatives and programs, manage communications and public engagement of community wellness programs and task forces.  Working under the general direction of the Director of Public Health, this position will be responsible to seek grants and raise funds to support and expand wellness program offerings, coordinate and supervise program volunteers.
Work schedule is 37.5 hours per week including weekend and evening events, staffing information tables and displays.
 
Required Qualifications

A four year degree in public health, public administration, community health, social sciences or related field; three years of community wellness coordination and promotion experience, and interaction dealing with community groups and the public, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Master’s degree preferred. A valid motor vehicle operator’s license with a good driving record is required.  Must be able to pass CORI and SORI background checks.

Salary Range:    $58,356 - $71,772  plus excellent benefits
