Regional Emergency Preparedness Planner

The International Institute of Greater Lawrence (IIGL), acting on behalf of the Region 3A Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coalition, is seeking to retain a contract for a Regional Emergency Preparedness Planner.  This individual will assist local public health within region 3A, Northeast Public Health Coalition (14 communities), in meeting Federal and State emergency preparedness grant deliverables including but not limited to; the updating of public health emergency plans, conducting drills and exercises and preparing HSEEP compliant after action reports, develop agendas for executive committee and Coalition meetings and send to each community’s town/city clerk for posting in accordance with the open meeting law requirements, attend, scribe, present material and draft minutes of meetings.  This individual must have knowledge of local and state public health and safety departments.  Individual must be highly organized, able to multi-task and possess good verbal and written communication skills.  Have a working knowledge of the CDC Strategic National Stockpile Emergency Dispensing Site program including familiarity with NIMS, ICS and HSEEP preferred.  The selected candidate should be able to work independently with limited supervision and provide necessary transportation throughout all 14 communities in the Region.  Bachelor’s degree required; Master of Public Health or related degree preferred.   This subcontracted position is for 20 hours/week for 50 weeks at $40.00 /hour; no benefits provided.  This contract position is funded until June 30, 2018 with the possibility of renewal subject to funding and budget approval.  Interested and qualified should reply by COB on July 12, 2017  to: Frank P. Part Time Regional EDS Planner
International Institute of Greater Lawrence, on behalf of Region 3B Greater Lawrence Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coalition seeks to contract with a part time EDS Planner.  The total cost of this contract not to exceed $10,000.00.  The selected individual must have a background in Healthcare Emergency Preparedness and Emergency Dispensing Site (EDS) planning.  The scope of service for this subcontracted position includes the following deliverables due by March 30, 2018:
1) Develop a strategic plan to begin execution of the Regional Emergency Dispensing Site (EDS) work plan that was developed in Budget Period 4.
3.) Engage local Emergency Management Directors (EMDs) and facilitate planning teams with regional and local partners.
4.) Facilitate identification of a minimum of 2 Regional EDS locations within the Coalition; provide technical assistance and outreach to those sites and the respective governing authority and/or facility owner.
5.) Facilitate the signing of Memorandum of Agreements for facility usage as appropriate and develop Regional EDS plans utilizing templates for those sites provided by MDPH.
6.) Complete and submit a progress report and final report to the Region 3B Coalition and provide other updates as requested.

19hrs/wk $27.28 - $34.00 per hr. Requires working knowledge of federal, state and local environmental and public health laws. Inspects and prepare reports. Physical effort associated with field work. Requires excellent oral and computer skills. Candidate must meet the State Educational requirements as a Registered Sanitarian. Minimum of 2 years experience in public or environmental health. Must possess a valid MA motor vehicle operator’s license. Soil evaluator, food manager certification and municipal experience preferred. The Town of Westborough is seeking applications from qualified individuals for the full time position of Health Inspector in the Health Department. This position is responsible for enforcing the laws and regulations generally related to public health and environmental sanitation, including inspection of food service establishments.

Applicants shall possess a Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Qualified applicants will have valid driver's license. NEHA Certified Profession in Food Safety (CP-FS) or equivalent preferred.
